Il metodo che mi ha insegnato é quello che ancora oggi utilizzo a lavoro, con personali preferenze sviluppate nel corso degli anni, ma la solida base é state fornita da Fil. Perfino lo stile d'animazione non sembra essere un problema per lui: ho fatto sia shot super cartoon che shot realistici e grazie alla sua guida il risultato finale é sempre stato di altissimo livello!
Insomma, credo che in Italia non si possa trovare di meglio se si vuole fare dell'animazione il proprio lavoro.”

Ho iniziato SquashnStretch.net con l'intenzione di migliorare le mie capacita' come animatore. Un mio amico me ne parlava da parecchio tempo e quando ebbi l'opportunita', decisi di frequentare il primo modulo (palla, pendolo, molla e sacco di farina).
Filippo sin da subito si e' dimostrato un mentore molto calmo, paziente e serio. Si sente che lo fa perche' ama quest'arte e questa passione viene trasmessa attraverso il suo feedback a lezione. Riesce a guidarti seguendo un percorso studiato affinche' tu possa apprendere con gradualita'. Anche solo facendo i primi esercizi, che a prima vista sembrano facili, ho notato quante cose devi tenere a mente affinche' lo shot funzioni. In quel momento ho realizzato quanto e' importante avere una guida che ti segua e ti indichi la strada, perche' per quanto uno shot possa sembrarti finito, Filippo ti mostrera' sempre come puoi migliorarlo.
La crescita durante il periodo che ho frequentato SquashnStretch.net si nota molto. Ad ogni modulo c'e' sempre stato qualcosa di nuovo da imparare. Ma serve rimanere focalizzati, perche' a volte lo shot non sembra prendere piede, ed e' proprio allora che serve fare piu' attenzione e avere pazienza. E' in quei momenti che verrai messo alla prova e se ne vieni a capo, noterai i piu' grandi progressi! In ogni caso ce la farai perche' non sei solo!
Munisciti di tanta pazienza e forza di volonta'. Usa la passione come input per andare avanti e ascolta le parole di Filippo. Grazie a questi ingredienti sarai in grado di far diventare una passione una carriera e sono sicuro che ne varra' la pena!

I started SquashnStretch.net with the intention of improving my skills as an animator. A friend of mine had been talking to me about it for a long time and when I had the opportunity, I decided to attend the first module (ball, pendulum, spring and sack of flour).
Filippo immediately proved to be a very calm, patient and serious mentor. He feels that he does it because he loves this art and this passion is conveyed through his feedback in class. He manages to guide you by following a path designed so that you can learn gradually. Even just doing the first exercises, which at first seem easy, I noticed how many things you have to keep in mind for the shot to work. At that moment I realized how important it is to have a guide who follows you and shows you the way, because no matter how finished a shot may seem, Filippo will always show you how you can improve it.
The growth during my time with SquashnStretch.net is very noticeable. With each module there has always been something new to learn. But you need to stay focused, because sometimes the shot doesn't seem to take hold, and that's when you need to be more careful and be patient. It is in those moments that you will be tested and if you come to terms with it, you will notice the greatest progress! In any case you will make it because you are not alone!

I took the Workshop 3 Animals after a recommendation from Filippo when I showed him my showreel. Filippo is a patient teacher that listens to any feedback that you might have on the workshop itself. He has a variety of experience and an eye for detail. Furthermore, he pushes you until you have the best animation possible, and also tries to explain how and why things work a specific way. He went step by step with the feedback, first trying to get the basics working, alongside the layout and camera. I believe that the dragon shot that we worked together helped me land a job at Pixomondo on a relevant show.
Sin da bambina ho sempre sognato di poter vivere all'interno del mondo dei cartoni videogiochi e film... ho sempre rincorso questo sogno e piano piano sono arrivata a questo grande obbiettivo della mia vita, con impegno e dando il massimo delle mie capacità, spingendomi sempre oltre.
Cercavo una scuola che mi consentisse di ampliare e migliorare il mio stile personale di animazione, e poter così finalmente accedere ad un livello più alto di questa professione.
Filippo Dattola con la sua esperienza e la sua professionalità lavorativa mi ha accompagnato e indirizzato in questo infinito percorso composto da mille stili, strade, metodi, caratterizzazione ed espressioni di linguaggio, per riuscire a comunicare con tutti i tipi di pubblico.

Since I was a child I have always dreamed of being able to live in the world of video games and movies cartoons ... I have always chased this dream and slowly I reached this great goal of my life, with commitment and giving the best of my abilities, always pushing me further.
I was looking for a school that would allow me to expand and improve my personal style of animation, and thus finally be able to access a higher level of this profession.

L'animazione è dura ma ogni sforzo compiuto sarà poi ripagato: ricordo, con piacere, quando pensavo di aver finalmento finito uno shot...ma durante la lezione Filippo ti trovava mille piccoli dettagli ancora da poter migliorare ed aggiungere per poter dare a quell'animazione un maggior realismo, maggiore credibilità.
