The sixth phase – Multiple Character Animation – in the SquashnStretch.net mentorship path. This multiple character animation phase introduces the complexity of animating scenes with two or more characters interacting.
Through direct 1-on-1 mentorship, you will learn to manage staging, timing, and emotional dynamics between characters — the challenge that separates solo exercises from real production work.
What This Mentorship Phase 6 Covers
This phase covers multi-character scene animation. You will work through two-character dialogue, physical interaction, emotional dynamics, shot staging with multiple focal points, and the timing challenges of coordinating performances within a single shot. Every scene demands that both characters feel alive and connected.
Who This Phase Is For
Designed for animators who have completed Mentorship Phase 5 or have strong single-character acting skills. If your solo performances are compelling but you struggle with multi-character scenes, this phase builds the compositional and timing skills that production work demands.
What You Will Achieve
By the end of this phase, you will animate multi-character scenes with clear staging, coordinated timing, and believable interaction. Your demo reel will include complex scene work — the type of shot that demonstrates production readiness to studio recruiters.
Ready for Phase 7 — Animal Locomotion.

LIVE Review
Two 1-on-1 live sessions per week with your mentor. All sessions recorded for you to review anytime.
LECTURES
Live and recorded video tutorials and PDF resources, covering multi-character staging, timing, interaction.
ASSIGNMENT
1 performance shot with detailed mentor feedback staging, character dynamics, and performance coordination.
SOFTWARE
Autodesk Maya is the primary software.
Students can also use Blender or other 3D packages
LANGUAGE
All sessions and materials are delivered in English or Italian. Choose your preferred language when you enrol
REQUIREMENTS
Stable internet connection, microphone and webcam. Completion of Phase 5 or equivalent experience.
DURATION
10 weeks of structured training focused on multi-character scene complexity and interaction. Two sessions x week, recorded.
